Please read the following terms, payment, and shipping information carefully:
Please make payments for all snakes to: Captive Reptile Specialties, Inc.
We guarantee our animals to be in perfect health upon arrival. All sold animals will have proper body weight and showing no physical signs of illness. If properly acclimated and cared for, our animals should do excellent for you. It's difficult to put a longer term guarantee on our animals because once you receive them, we have no way of controlling how they are cared for. For example, if you keep a ball python at 70 degree with no hot spot and it won’t eat, that is not something we have any control over. We cannot guarantee against flawed husbandry practices. However, we want to help you have success and are happy to answer questions and offer advice before, during, and after the sale.
Please open shipping boxes and inspect all animals immediately upon receipt of shipment. If you have any concerns regarding your order, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt of your shipment. We want you to be happy with the animals you receive from Royal Constrictor Designs; if there are any problems, we need to know about them right away.
If you do have trouble with any animals you receive from us, please contact us and let us help you find a solution to the problem. We would rather offer help sooner rather than later. If a replacement is necessary, we reserve the right to replace the animal with a similar animal that has the same value. If the animal cannot be replaced, we will give you credit towards a different type or towards a future purchase. We do not give out cash refunds.
All of our snakes are guaranteed to be feeding at the time they are shipped. Newly acquired snakes normally begin feeding within the first week or two. However, the stress from shipping and being placed in an unfamiliar environment can sometimes make the snake go into a non-feeding mode. This is nothing to panic about, as long as there are no other health issues with the snake. Ideally, it's best to get babies, about 100 grams or less, to start feeding within 1-2 weeks. They don't have the fat reserves to survive as long as larger balls do. Older juveniles, sub-adults, and adults, can go much longer. Some snakes, especially Ball Pythons, make take a month or more to feel comfortable in their new conditions and begin feeding. Keeping Ball Pythons sometimes takes lots of patience! It's important not to panic when a new ball python refuses to feed. When a snake does not eat, it is not a valid reason for a replacement or a credit to be given. Please see our care information pages for troubleshooting and tips on acclimation. All of our snakes are guaranteed to be feeding at the time of shipment. Most of the time, feeding problems can be resolved with an adjustment to their new environment. We want you to have success with any snakes you purchase from us and we are happy to assist you in figuring out why a particular snake is not feeding. Usually, making a few minor adjustments to the snake's environment, temperatures, humidity, etc. is all it takes. Don't give up on a snake just because it's being stubborn. It's just what Ball Pythons do sometimes!
Once you choose the animal(s) you are interested in, you can place the order directly through our website. If you have any questions about animals you are considering, please email us and we will provide any information you need. We want you to have a good experience adding our animals to your collection!
Recessive Genes: We fully guarantee the genetics of all recessive genes, including 100% Hets. We keep very good hatching records here and to my knowledge, nobody has ever had one of our animals prove to not have a stated recessive gene. If something is labeled a 100% Het, then it is a 100% Het, guaranteed!
Multi-Co-Dominant Genes: We have many years of experience identifying the genetic makeup of our animals. However, when several or more genes are involved, it is sometimes very difficult if not impossible to know exactly which genes are in a specific animal. We use past experiences and the genetic makeup of the breeders that produced them to help identify, but some individual snakes may be misidentified. Sometimes, the animal in question will have different genes or more genes than originally thought, and sometimes they may have fewer genes. Normally, we will sell the animal for the genes we know it has and let the customer know about other genes it may possibly have. We do our best to identify our animals and will never intentionally mislabel any of them.
Shipping in the US
All of our animals are shipped FedEx Overnight, live delivery guaranteed. The cost for most shipments is $60 per box. We can fit several small animals in each box so there is no additional shipping charges if you purchase a group of animals. We use insulated boxes to help stabilize the temperature. If needed, heat packs are used. We ship in the late afternoon or early evening and the package usually arrives the following morning before noon. Someone must be present at the address to sign for the package. Shipments can be held at your local Fed Ex Ship Center for pick up upon request. Shipments can also be sent to your place of employment if you prefer. We usually ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, weather permitting. It is very important to ship when conditions are safe, minimizing the chances of delays with Fed Ex, or the animal freezing or overheating. We have over 20 years of experience shipping and when we ship during safe conditions, our survival rate is about 99.9%. We do sometimes have to delay shipments until the weather permits safe shipping. We want our snakes to arrive alive and well, so we take great care to ensure that will happen.
We do not export our animals ourselves, but we do have an exporter that will ship for us. The cost to cover permits, paperwork and airline fees to most countries is typically around $1000-1200US. The exporter also charges 10% of the value of the shipment with a maximum fee of $2500. We do not have a minimum order to export our animals. It mostly depends on whether or not the export cost is worth it to you to justify the purchase. For orders of several or more animals, we can usually provide a discount large enough to at least cover the exporter’s fee. For payment, we accept a direct wire transfer. A minimum deposit of 50% is required to hold all animals until the export can be set up. Most exports take several weeks to schedule. Once an order is placed, you and the exporter will be in contact with each other to confirm the date. If a deposit was placed on the order, the balance must be paid in full no less than 2 weeks before the date of export. Our exporter is great to work with and we have had great success, having sent hundreds of animals to various countries in the past few years.
Canadian orders can be exported through Reptile Express. They routinely ship animals back and forth from the US to Canada and the cost is pretty reasonable. If you live in Canada and would like to receive animals from us, please contact them directly for a shipping quote and timeframe.
Whenever possible, we try to have individual photographs of many of the animals we have for sale. Unfortunately, with the large number we produce, it's impossible to have photos of every animal. If there is something you are looking for and you don’t see it available on our website, please email use. We usually have a lot of animals that we haven’t had time to post yet..
PLACING ANIMALS ON HOLD
A minimum of 25% is required to put animals on hold. We cannot hold any snakes without a deposit.
DEPOSITS AND PAYMENT PLANS
We offer payment plans on most of our animals. For animals that are priced at $500 or less, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit with the balance due in 4-6 weeks. For orders over $500, deposits of 25% or more is required. The length of the payment plan can be between 2-4 months, depending on the total purchase price. Please contact us if you want to set up a payment plan and we will figure out the details.
Deposits and payments are non-refundable. Please consider this when deciding to make a purchase. We cannot have an animal on hold with a deposit and payments made, only to have the customer decide they don't want the animal anymore and want their money back. There's no point in doing deposits or payment plans if we just have to send the money back if a customer changes their mind. The only exceptions to this is if the animal gets sick or dies while still in our care and we have no similar animal we can replace it with. It is EXTREMELY rare for this to happen. We are flexible with the duration of our payment plans. We understand that sometimes, a customer has a setback and can't pay for a purchase in the agreed-upon length of time. If it takes an extra couple of weeks, even a month to finish a payment plan, that is understandable. However, we cannot keep an animal on hold indefinitely because a customer has no means to finish paying for it. We will be as accommodating as possible in these situations, but we do reserve the right to cancel a plan completely 60 days after the final payment was to be made. Please be sure you want to make a purchase, and will have the funds to do it, before committing to it.
Once you know the animal(s) are available, the next step is payment. We have 5 basic methods of payment.
